about

USED TO BE

Who did you used to be
Yeah, tell me, who’d you used to be
Cause you keep saying you were the coolest thing
Tell me again now - who did you used to be

Who did you used to be
Because to you he really seems to mean something
Your face lights up like your cigarette
But tell me - what’s he got to do with me

I man with this much living behind him
Can’t have too much ahead
Why would I want to waste a single night
On someone who’s already half-dead

So don’t tell me who you used to be
I’ll tell you who you are to me
You’re just a little boy who thinks he’s real tough
Now tell me - who’re you gonna grow up to be

Yeah, I don’t care who you used to be
Neither of you mean anything to me
You’re just an old man who don’t know when to give up
Yeah, you sure look used to me
